Cade Klubnik discusses being ‘the guy’ in QB room
Clemson is Cade Klubnik’s team now, and they’re going to ride the young phenom until the wheels fall off in 2023.
Klubnik provided glimpses of a bright future last season. Specifically, his performance in the ACC Championship Game has Tigers fans grasping for more. His Orange Bowl performance left some to be desired, but it was an impossibly tough situation for a young quarterback.
Nevertheless, Klubnik has a full offseason to get right for the 2023 campaign, and he explained how it’s helping him prepare.
“I felt like I just really got to just like, get back to my natural style of play. Get back there and relax. Just kind of take control. I feel like that’s kind of when I play my best, when I’m fully in control, and I don’t have to worry about anything, I just kind of get to relax and go play,” explained the young Clemson star. “Just have fun doing it. What I learned is just stay calm, and keep watching film. I’ve continued to learn so much, but just right now I’m just working on my pocket presence, and just getting down this offense. … About three months into it now. Feeling good. Feeling good.”
Regardless, there are things Klubnik would like to improve, which he touched on while speaking with the media.

“Pocket presence. Accuracy. Just continuing to rally the guys and push guys to places that they haven’t pushed themselves before,” elaborated Klubnik. “I feel like now I kind of have that capability, to just really encourage guys to like, let’s keep going. We’ve got some of the best athletes in the whole nation here. Just getting their minds right. Not saying that nobody doesn’t, but we’re not here to just have another year.
“We’re here to win it all. That’s the main goal here. If we don’t do that, then the accomplishment isn’t made.”
That’ll fire Clemson fans up. Cade Klubnik will be a popular Heisman pick in 2023, and the Tigers will be a prominent bet to win it all. Under his leadership, the defending ACC champions can go as far as they’d like.
