Clemson baseball has been on an absolute tear lately. The Tigers won their 11th straight game on Friday night against the North Carolina Tar Heels. Blake Wright delivered the heroics in the bottom of the ninth inning, slapping a deep shot into right field.

His hit brought home Clemson first baseman Caden Grice to lift the Tigers to a thrilling 5-4 victory in walk-off fashion. The Tigers have won seven consecutive series in the ACC. Following the victory, pandemonium ensued in the outfield as the Tigers jumped around and doused each other with water.

The top of the ninth was a disaster for the Tigers in the field on Friday night. They lost three pop ups in the lights and North Carolina tied the game at 4-4. That’s when Blake Wright took matters into his own hands in the bottom of the ninth.

Not only was the win Clemson’s 11th straight victory, their seventh straight ACC series win, but they also locked up a Regional in the upcoming 2023 NCAA Tournament at Clemson. That’s massive. Things can’t get much better. With the win, the Tigers improved to 38-17 overall and 19-10 in the ACC. North Carolina fell to 33-20 overall and 14-13 in ACC play.
