Clemson baseball wins 11th straight game after Blake Wright delivers game winning heroics vs. UNC
Clemson baseball has been on an absolute tear lately. The Tigers won their 11th straight game on Friday night against the North Carolina Tar Heels. Blake Wright delivered the heroics in the bottom of the ninth inning, slapping a deep shot into right field.
His hit brought home Clemson first baseman Caden Grice to lift the Tigers to a thrilling 5-4 victory in walk-off fashion. The Tigers have won seven consecutive series in the ACC. Following the victory, pandemonium ensued in the outfield as the Tigers jumped around and doused each other with water.

The top of the ninth was a disaster for the Tigers in the field on Friday night. They lost three pop ups in the lights and North Carolina tied the game at 4-4. That’s when Blake Wright took matters into his own hands in the bottom of the ninth.
Not only was the win Clemson’s 11th straight victory, their seventh straight ACC series win, but they also locked up a Regional in the upcoming 2023 NCAA Tournament at Clemson. That’s massive. Things can’t get much better. With the win, the Tigers improved to 38-17 overall and 19-10 in the ACC. North Carolina fell to 33-20 overall and 14-13 in ACC play.

Clemson won Game 1 of the series against North Carolina 14-7. They’re peaking at the right time. Right before the ACC Tournament and the NCAA Tournament. UNC and Clemson will play Game 3 of their series on Saturday at 1:00 PM EST. It’s the final game of the regular season and it will be televised on the ACC Network.
One of Clemson’s biggest wins of the regular season came against the Duke Blue Devils on Saturday, March 18. The Tigers prevailed in that one, 14-9. They scored 13 runs in the first four innings. Clemson was swept by Wake Forest, 3-0. That’s why the Demon Deacons are the top-ranked team in America. The Tigers’ 11 game winning streak began on Saturday, April 29th, when they pulled off a 6-3 victory over Boston College.
After Friday’s game, Caden Grice leads the Tigers in home runs (13) and RBIs (51). Cam Cannarella leads Clemson in total bases (115). Billy Amick leads the team in batting average (.431). And Will Taylor leads the team in doubles (16). Reed Garris has been one of their best pitchers all season long with a 4-0 record and a 2.00 ERA.
