Clemson star PJ Hall to miss second straight game

Clemson will be without leading scorer PJ Hall for the second consecutive game.

Clemson announced Saturday afternoon that Hall is out for Saturday’s game against Boston College with a left foot injury. Clemson Sports previously reported early Saturday afternoon that Hall would not play.

The sophomore leads the Tigers with an average of 15.5 points per game.

Hall also missed Wednesday’s win over Wake Forest due to the foot injury. The Dorman product has been banged up for most of the season but was forced to the bench in last Saturday’s loss to Louisville after only one minute. He has not played since.

Hall has gone from a bench player to one of the best big men in the ACC this season.

In addition to Hall, senior forward Hunter Tyson is also out for Saturday’s game at Boston College.

Tyson suffered a broken clavicle in early February against Florida State and has not played since. The hope is that he will be able to return to action next week.

“He’s obviously not playing Saturday. I don’t know if he can play Wednesday. I don’t know. It’s hard for me to speculate,” Tigers coach Brad Brownell said last week. “He’s trying to get ready for some point next week, maybe. We’ll see if he can get there. I don’t know. But he did a little bit of 5-on-0 Monday and Tuesday. A little bit.”

Clemson is looking for its second straight win after dropping six consecutive games since Tyson’s injury. The Tigers earned a much-needed victory over Wake Forest on Wednesday to snap their skid.

“Just happy to see them excited in the locker room after a big win against a good team. We made shots tonight, which is something we haven’t done consistently well. Our guys kept making plays,” Brownell said. “We had to make a lot of plays down the stretch. We haven’t always been able to do that. I just thought our kids fought incredibly hard.”
