The No. 5 Clemson Tigers survived the Wake Forest Demon Deacons last weekend in what was one of the best games of the 2022 season thus far. Clemson pulled it out in a 51-45 double-overtime thriller, thanks to a clutch pass breakup on fourth down by cornerback Nate Wiggins. The Tigers survived and currently sit at 4-0. This Saturday, they’ll turn their attention to yet another highly anticipated ACC showdown with the 4-0 N.C. State Wolfpack and their ultra-talented quarterback, Devin Leary. The Wolfpack are currently the 12th ranked team in America and this one should be yet another ACC classic.

Clemson football announced on Twitter on Sunday night that the game is officially sold out.

It’s not a surprise, considering the game should be one of the best games of the year. Many people had this game circled before the season and hopefully it lives up to the hype. College GameDay announced that they are coming to Death Valley, as well.

Clemson looked really, really good in many areas on Saturday against Wake Forest. D.J. Uiagalelei is playing some of the best football he’s played in a really long time. He’s routinely throwing accurate passes down the field and making clutch plays precisely when the Tigers need them the most. He racked up over 400 all-purpose yards and five touchdowns against Wake Forest and there’s no question Clemson doesn’t win that game without a masterful performance from their signal-caller.

The Tigers were dealing with plenty of injuries in the secondary on Saturday and Wake quarterback Sam Hartman made them pay dearly for it. He showed why he’s one of the best quarterbacks in the ACC, completing 69 percent of his passes for 337 yards, while tossing in a school-record six touchdowns with no interceptions. His ball placement was outstanding on Saturday and there’s no question the Demon Deacons will be one of the most difficult teams in the ACC to deal with the rest of the way.

Clemson will have to face two of the best quarterbacks in the ACC in back-to-back weeks

The Clemson secondary had to deal with Sam Hartman on Saturday and this weekend they’ll have to deal with another ultra-accurate signal-caller in N.C. State’s Devin Leary. He’s completed 64 percent of his passes thus far for 890 yards, while tossing in nine touchdowns and two interceptions. Last year, the Wolfpack defeated Clemson 27-21 in double overtime with Leary at the helm, so the Tigers will not need any reminders that Leary and N.C. State are perfectly capable of beating them.

Saturday’s game should be yet another one of the best games of the 2022 college football season. Let’s hope it lives up to the hype. Pull up a seat.

Clemson and N.C. State face off on Saturday. Kickoff time is set for 7:30 PM EST and the game will be nationally televised on ABC.
