Clemson forward Ian Schieffelin has entered the NCAA Transfer Portal. He has spent four seasons with the Tigers.

Schieffelin started in all 34 of Clemson’s games this season. He averaged 12.4 points, 9.4 rebounds and 2.7 assists in 33.4 minutes per game. He shot 49.5% from the field and 34.1% from beyond the arc.

Schieffelin had his best performance of the season in Clemson’s 83-68 win over Notre Dame on Feb. 26. In the win, Schieffelin tallied a season-high 24 points and nine rebounds while shooting 9-11 from the floor.

The 6-foot-8 senior also had a standout showing in Clemson’s win over Kentucky earlier in the season. In the triumph, Schiefflin recorded 11 points and a jaw-dropping 20 rebounds.

In his four years at Clemson, Schiefflin amassed 134 appearances and 99 starts. He received numerous honors while with the Tigers, including the 2024 ACC Player of the Year Award and a 2025 All-ACC Second-Team selection.

It’s worth noting that, as the NCAA eligibility rules stand, Schieffelin wouldn’t be expected to be allowed to play another season. Alas, there’s always a chance those rules could change this offseason.

“Was told by a source that Clemson is letting Schiefflin and Jaeden Zackery enter the portal despite the players not having any eligibility remaining in case a lawsuit allows players 5 years of eligibility,” On3’s Pete Nakos wrote on X.

Ian Schieffelin played high school basketball at Grayson (GA), where he was an unranked prospect in the 2021 recruiting cycle, according to the On3 Industry Ranking, a weighted average that utilizes all four major recruiting media companies. Schieffelin chose Clemson over Virginia Tech and Dayton.

Clemson went 27-7 this past season and posted a stunning 18-2 mark in conference play, the team’s best during head coach Brad Brownell‘s tenure. However, the Tigers fell short during the postseason, suffering an upset against McNeese State in the first round of the NCAA Tournament.

Next season, Brownell will look to return his team to glory. Schieffelin is the seventh Clemson player who has entered the transfer portal this offseason. The Tigers have brought in five players via the transfer portal, including standouts such as Nick Davidson and RJ Godfrey.
