Clemson forward RJ Godfrey enters the NCAA Transfer Portal
Clemson’s RJ Godfrey has entered his name into the transfer portal.
Godfrey has spent the past two seasons at Clemson and appeared in 69 games in that time, including one start as a freshman.
In his career, Godfrey has averaged 4.7 points and 2.8 rebounds while shooting 59.5% in just over a dozen minutes a game.
Godfrey played high school basketball at North Gwinnett in Georgia. He was a three-star prospect there and the No. 170 overall recruit in the 2022 cycle. That’s according to the On3 Industry Ranking, a weighted average that utilizes all four major recruiting media companies. He finished as a Top-50 SF and the No. 6 player out of Georgia.
Godfrey was the lead recruit in a four-man class that was No. 51 in the country in On3’s 2022 Industry Basketball Team Recruiting Rankings. He came in alongside SG Dillon Hunter, PF Chauncey Wiggins, and SF Chauncey Gibson. Gibson is the only one not still with the team after transferring to Tulsa as well as UT-Arlington.
Now, in this portal cycle, Godfrey is the third transfer loss for the program. Jack Clark was the first entry on April 5th while Joshua Beadle was the second two days later on April 7th. That’s three losses in the span of a week with no additions in the portal to this point either.

More on Clark entering the NCAA Transfer Portal
Clemson has lost one of their members to the NCAA Transfer Portal last Friday.
PF Jack Clark officially entered the portal on Friday afternoon, On3’s Jamie Shaw has learned.
He averaged 4.7 points and 4.7 rebounds per game this season in 23.5 minutes of work. He played in 25 games this season for Clemson after transferring from NC State.
He’ll have an extra year of eligibility because of the COVID-19 waiver.
Before transferring to NC State, Clark spent time with the La Salle Explorers from 2018 to 2022. His freshman year, he played in nine games and, in his third year there, he played in 30 games, starting 23 of those. In the 2021-2022 season, Clark averaged 12.0 points per game, averaging 29.8% from beyond-the-arc. He played the most minutes of his college basketball career thus far for La Salle, logging 913 minutes for them in the 2021-2022 campaign.
Standing at 6-foot-10, Clark has been a solid rebounder for much of his career, averaging 5.6 rebounds per game for his college basketball career.
