Ahead of a weekend contest against Wake Forest, Clemson coach Dabo Swinney is feeling pretty good about his team’s injury updates.

The long-time Clemson coach provided a brief overview of the situation on Wednesday, avoiding specifics but noting the Tigers should be fairly healthy overall. A few players remain in flux.

“We’ve just kind of got some guys that are day-to-day,” Swinney said. “A few guys get banged up this time of year, but we’ll see where everybody is by Friday. We’ve got a couple guys that are close, but we’ll see where they are by Friday when we load up and go.”

Among the players who are likely in the “close” category are receivers Tyler Brown and Adam Randall. Both have been either limited by injury or our altogether the last couple weeks.

Brown suffered a high-ankle sprain in the team’s win over Appalachian State on Sept. 7. He missed the NC State game and has been limited in games against Stanford and Florida State.

Swinney sounded quite high on Brown’s potential as he was giving injury updates earlier this week.

“You mention Tyler Brown, he is AWOL, right? Nobody even asks me about Tyler Brown,” Swinney said. “But y’all will eventually if we can ever get him healthy. He is going to be a great player, but everything kind of went good for him last year, and he has been battling to get back. Hopefully, he can truly have a full week of practice this week and take another step forward.”

Randall, on the other hand, has been sidelined by a toe injury, according to the injury updates Swinney has provided. He has missed the past two games.

The junior receiver, who has logged nine catches for 100 yards and a touchdown this fall, was reportedly close to playing last weekend in Tallahassee, Fla.

“We got Adam back, which is amazing,” Swinney said. “He was ready to go last week. I was really nervous about it, but he was adamant to play. I am glad we did not need him.”

With the injury updates out of the way, Clemson will get set to take on Wake Forest on Saturday in a game that kicks off at noon ET on ESPN.
