Jaeden Zackery has spent the past four seasons playing well as a full-time starter in the ACC. He’ll now be looking for a fourth program to play for in what’d potentially be his sixth season overall playing at the college level.

Zackery has entered the NCAA Transfer Portal per On3’s Jamie Shaw on Monday. Shaw has also reported he has done so with a do-not-contact tag as a graduate transfer.

However, while Zackery is technically out of eligibility, he was allowed to enter the portal. That, per sources speaking with On3’s Pete Nakos, is in case he, along with Ian Schieffelin, who will be entering the portal as well, are granted another by the result of a lawsuit.

“Was told by a source that Clemson is letting Schiefflin and Jaeden Zackery enter the portal despite the players not having any eligibility remaining in case a lawsuit allows players 5 years of eligibility,” Nakos tweeted.

Zackery spent this past season at Clemson after three years at Boston College and one at Chipola College as a JUCO. Over his four years in Division I within the Atlantic Coast Conference, Zackery has posted 11.1 points (45.5% FG, 39.2% 3PT), 3.3 rebounds, 3.2 assists, and 1.8 steals per game. That includes 11.7 points (45.3% FG, 36% 3PT), 3.3 rebounds, 3.1 assists, and 2.1 steals this year for the Tigers as a key piece for a team that went 27-7 overall before disappointing with a first-round loss as a No. 5 seed in the 2025 NCAA Tournament.

Zackery is now the latest loss of this portal cycle for Clemson. He was the second notable one just today with that news of Schieffelin entering too this afternoon. They now make it seven transfers in total for the Tigers along with Del Jones (Radford), Chauncey Wiggins (Florida State), and Asa Thomas (Furman) plus Jake Heidbreder and Christian Reeves.

In turn, Clemson has added five transfers from the portal since the start of April. They’ve earned commitments from Nick Davidson (Nevada), Carter Welling (Utah Valley), RJ Godfrey (Georgia), Efrem Johnson (UAB), and Jake Wahlin (Utah).

Clemson has lost many of the players that made up the roster that won the most games in school history this last season. Zackery, as well as Schieffelin, is the newest among them with his portal entry this afternoon as he looks for which program he could compete for next.
