CLEMSON — Several former Clemson football players are hoping to hear their names called during the 2022 NFL Draft.

Four Tigers with NFL aspirations will get a chance to impress at the NFL combine leading up to draft day.

Cornerbacks Andrew Booth Jr. and Mario Goodrich, receiver Justyn Ross and linebacker Baylon Spector have been invited to the combine, the NFL announced Wednesday morning.

In total, 324 prospects were invited to the combine, which will be held March 1 through March 7 in Indianapolis.

Notable Tigers who didn’t get invited to the combine include: tight end Braden Galloway, safety Nolan Turner and linebacker James Skalski.

Turner was a second-team All-American in 2020 and started all 10 games he was available for in 2021. Skalski was a first-team All-ACC selection this past season. Galloway battled injuries as a senior and missed most of the season but made big plays when healthy at times in his career.

As for the players who did get invited to the combine, Booth is the biggest name.

The junior from Atlanta is expected to be a first-round pick after earning first-team All-ACC honors this past season. Booth had 39 tackles, 3 tackles for loss, 5 pass breakups and 3 interceptions while starting all 11 games he played in.

Goodrich wasn’t talked about as much as Booth, but he had a great year as well. The Missouri native was also named first-team All-ACC after finishing with 48 tackles, 9 pass breakups, 2 interceptions and a forced fumble while starting all 12 games he appeared in.

Ross didn’t have the dominant season he did as a freshman and sophomore, but he still led the Tigers in receptions (46) and yards (514). He did that despite only playing in 10 games and battling a foot injury all season.

Spector was a two-year starter for Clemson, finishing second on the team in tackles with 85 in 2021. He had 4.5 tackles for loss, 2.5 sacks, an interception, a forced fumble and a fumble recovery in 11 games, with 10 starts.

Clemson finished 10-3 this past season, winning six consecutive games to end the year. The Tigers didn’t reach the College Football Playoff, which is what many expected them to do, but they did win at least 10 games for the 11th consecutive season.
