Update on Clemson season ticket sales, notes on away game tickets
The college football season is officially back with games getting underway on Saturday, and Clemson is two weeks away from its home opener.
The Tigers will play in Atlanta a week from Monday against Georgia Tech, before hosting Furman on Saturday, Sept. 10.
Clemson has sold more than 55,000 season tickets so far, which is good for the fifth-highest mark in school history.
That number is down slightly from last season, but Clemson had a better than 90 percent renewal rate. The high renewal rate comes despite the Tigers going 10-3 last year.
There is optimism around Clemson that this team will be improved and get the Tigers back to the College Football Playoff.
The defense should be one of the best in the nation, while DJ Uiagalelei has improved at quarterback. Freshman quarterback Cade Klubnik could also help Clemson’s offense this season.
In addition to the 55,000 season tickets, the Tigers have sold an additional 5,000 season tickets to students. More tickets to students will be available on a single game basis throughout the year.

More Clemson football ticket notes
Clemson received 5,000 tickets for the Notre Dame game, plus an additional 400 tickets for the band.
The entire Tigers band is making the trip to Notre Dame.
Clemson received a typical ACC ticket allotment for the game against Georgia Tech in Atlanta, which is 4,300. The upper deck will be closed for the game. The Tigers were able to secure a few extra tickets for the game against the Yellow Jackets in order to fulfill IPTAY requests.
A good bit of single game tickets remain for every Clemson home game this season, due in part to ACC teams not filling their allotment.
Clemson is currently selling tickets to the Furman game for $18.96. The deal is to honor the first Clemson football game played in school history, which was played in 1896 against Furman. The sale will last until Sunday, Aug. 28 at 11:59 p.m. Tickets can be purchased by clicking here.
