Latest health update on several Clemson receivers
This is obviously an important spring for the Clemson offense as the Tigers learn new offensive coordinator Garrett Riley’s system.
Unfortunately, Clemson is banged up on the offensive side of the ball — particularly at receiver.
There are seven scholarship wideouts who aren’t going through spring practice at the moment for various reasons.
Beaux Collins is recovering from a shoulder injury that slowed him down all of last year. Adam Randall had to get his knee cleaned up at the end of the 2022 season. Troy Stellato is still recovering after suffering a torn ACL during last year’s fall camp. Will Taylor is with the baseball program this spring. And Misun Kelley, Tyler Brown and Ronan Hanafin are still finishing up high school, before enrolling this summer.
Clemson receivers coach Tyler Grisham provided an update on how the three receivers currently with the team are doing while speaking during a press conference Monday night.
“Beaux is not practicing fully when it comes to tackle and getting collisions and stuff like that, but he’s out there and doing everything else that’s team separate, which is great,” Grisham said. “So he’s getting reps already and looks fantastic.”
Collins will not be tackled to the ground through the conclusion of spring practice, but he is running routes and learning the offense.
“Adam, I just saw him catching passes after practice. So he’s coming along, which is great,” Grisham said.
Tigers coach Dabo Swinney said prior to the start of spring practice that Randall would not be fully released until after the spring game. However, like Collins, it seems that he may be able to at least start taking part in some non-contact drills the second half of the spring.

Stellato is not as far along at this point as he recovers from a torn ACL suffered about seven months ago.
“He’s still recovering. Not quite as far along as we had hoped,” Grisham said. “But it’s one of those things — there’s no need to get him re-injured. Let’s get him fully healthy. And so he’s learning.”
The good news for both Stellato and Randall is that there are concepts in the new Clemson offense that are similar to what they ran in high school.
Stellato attended Cardinal Gibbons High in Ft. Lauderdale, Florida, while Randall went to Myrtle Beach High along the South Carolina coast.
“[Troy] actually ran a very similar offense in high school. It’s funny, some of the terminology was a little similar at times. So it was encouraging for him,” Grisham said. “I think it was encouraging for Troy, and even Adam. Adam did a similar offense at Myrtle Beach. I think whenever he’ll get back, he shouldn’t skip a beat.”
