Clemson announces players out at Louisville
LOUISVILLE — Clemson will be without a defensive back who has started two of the past three games Saturday night at Louisville.
Safety Tyler Venables will not play against the Cardinals, Clemson announced Saturday evening. The sophomore has appeared in all eight games this season, with two starts.
Tigers offensive lineman Will Putnam, who is Clemson’s starting right guard, is questionable.
Venables has 25 tackles, 1.5 tackles for loss, two pass breakups and an interception so far this year.

Clemson has dealt with injuries all season and coach Dabo Swinney has said several times he’s never been a part of a year like this.
“I’ve never been through a season like this with the type of injuries that we’ve had,” Swinney said.
There are 14 players who started the season on Clemson’s roster who are no longer on the team due to either injuries or the transfer portal.
With Venables out it may mean more playing time for Andrew Mukubaa and Malcolm Greene.
