Brother of Clemson head coach Dabo Swinney accused of distributing child porn
Clemson head coach Dabo Swinney’s brother was arrested and accused of distributing child pornography, according to WIS TV in South Carolina.
Police arrested Henry Ervil Swinney III in Clemson April 23 after receiving a tip from the National Center for Missing and Exploited Children, WIS TV reported Thursday. He allegedly distributed the material via a “Mega” file sharing link and is being charged with one count of second degree sexual exploitation of a minor, according to WCIV News 4 in Charleston. That charge carries a maximum sentence of 10 years in prison.
Swinney was released Tuesday on a $5,000 surety bond, WCIV reported. The cases are now in the hands of the South Carolina Attorney General, according to attorney general Alan Wilson, who released a statement regarding the arrests on Thursday afternoon.
Two other men were also arrested and charged with possession of child sexual abuse material as part of separate cases, according to Wilson’s statement. A 22-year-old man was arrested April 29 and faces 11 charges after police said he possessed multiple files. Also, a 55-year-old man is facing 10 charges related to sexual exploitation of a minor. Both are felonies punishable by up to 10 years in prison, Wilson stated.
