CLEMSON — Dabo Swinney spoke with the media Tuesday afternoon at the Clemson Media Outing and Media Olympics.

Swinney previewed the 2021 season for about an hour, discussing injuries, depth chart, player personnel and more.

Here are some quick notes:

— Swinney got fully vaccinated in March and said the team is in a good spot as far as being vaccinated. He said all of the doctors he talked to told him to get vaccinated and he listened to his doctors.

Justyn Ross is in a good place. Swinney is hoping he will be fully cleared in the next couple of days. Swinney said some things have to be signed off on for him to be full go but he is very optimistic.

— Receivers Frank Ladson, Joseph Ngata and Beaux Collins are all healthy after being banged up some this spring/summer. The entire team is in a good spot from a health standpoint.

Taisun Phommachanh will be back sometime this season. No target date but he is progressing well.

— Justin Foster is doing great physically and is one of the strongest players on the team. He has made great progress and will be able to help this year.

— Swinney is really excited about the progress Xavier Thomas has made. He’s at 265 pounds and is in a great spot.

— Swinney is all for Name, Image and Likeness. “I’ve never had a problem with Name, Image and Likeness. I think there should’ve been more.” He said people used his old words about paying players and fit them into the story they wanted to write.

— Swinney is against playoff expansion and said so are Clemson players: “To be honest with you I don’t think there are 12 teams good enough.”

— Swinney is happy for Derion Kendrick landing at Georgia. He hopes Kendrick does well every game other than the opener against Clemson.

— Plenty more to come from ClemsonSports.com over the next couple of days.
