Dabo Swinney gives injury update on Beaux Collins
Playing in his first game in two weeks on Saturday, Clemson receiver Beaux Collins suffered another setback that forced him to exit early with injury in the second quarter. He did not return and was seen on the sidelines without pads or a helmet in the second half.
Collins caught a 59-yard pass just two plays prior to his injury, and finished the game with two catches for 65 yards. In his postgame press conference, Tigers coach Dabo Swinney provided an update on the injury, saying Collins reaggravated the shoulder that kept him out the last two games and is likely done for the year.
“It’s his shoulder again,” Swinney said. “His shoulder came back out. I appreciate him really trying to push through and it’s just something that we’ve got to fix after the season. He really wanted to play and was close last week, but it just came back out and we were hoping that he could make it through the rest of the season. But it was a great play, big play. Just hate that happened to him, but I appreciate his effort.”

Outside of Collins’ 65 yards, the Clemson passing attacking managed just 34 yards. The next closest player to his total was Will Shipley with two catches for a paltry 13 yards.
It seems the shoulder injury will unfortunately sideline Beaux Collins for the rest of the season, including the ACC Championship Game against North Carolina next week. Kickoff for that contest is set for 8 p.m. ET on Dec. 3 at Bank of America Stadium in Charlotte.
