Dabo Swinney limbos, wobbles at Trevor Lawrence wedding

CLEMSON — Dabo Swinney showed off his dance moves at Trevor Lawrence’s wedding this past weekend.
The former Clemson quarterback and his high school sweetheart, Marissa Mowry, tied the knot on Saturday in Bluffton, S.C., at Palmetto Bluffs. Mowry and Lawrence are both graduates of Cartersville High in Georgia and were engaged in July on the grass of Memorial Stadium.
Swinney was on the Packer and Durham show earlier this week and chatted about Lawrence’s wedding.
“Well, I made it through the limbo line,” Swinney said. “I was able to get underneath the thing. So I did OK on that. I made that. I didn’t fall or anything like that.
“We all danced, did the ‘Wobble.’ That was one of the dances – wobble baby wobble baby. We got that down.”
Lawrence was at The Masters for the first round on Thursday, which Swinney also attended. Expected to go with the first overall pick to the Jacksonville Jaguars in this month’s NFL Draft, Lawrence is recovering from labrum surgery on his non-throwing arm.

Swinney’s quarterback room is going through some bumps since Lawrence left. Starting quarterback D.J. Uiagalelei is expected to be in the mix for the Heisman Trophy, but backup quarterback Taisun Phommachanh tore his Achilles in the Orange vs. White game. The injury leaves Clemson with only one healthy backup quarterback at the moment — walk-on Hunter Helms.
Either way, this past weekend was a chance to celebrate Lawrence and Mowry. Along with Swinney, a handful of Lawrence’s former teammates attended wedding.
“We had a great time,” Swinney said. “That was a beautiful place. I had never been done there. It’s kind of off the grid. … But it was beautiful, got a chance to play golf. And got a chance to see a lot of the fellas and hung out. I’m happy for Trevor and Marissa. She looked beautiful. It was a great event and great to see a lot of his teammates there. And then also got a chance to see a day of golf at The Masters, which was really cool as well. So it was a great weekend.”
