CLEMSON — Darien Rencher started training for an NFL opportunity immediately following Clemson’s 2021 season. Now the Former Tigers running back is set to get one.

Rencher has received a mini-camp invite from the Carolina Panthers, he announced Wednesday evening on Twitter.

Despite not playing much this past season, Rencher was hopeful he would get a shot in the NFL and he is.

“I just wanted an opportunity. Thankful,” he tweeted.

Rencher spent six seasons at Clemson and was one of the best leaders on the team for the Tigers.

He originally joined the program as a walk-on but eventually received a scholarship. He starred at TL Hanna High in Anderson prior to joining Clemson’s program.
