Former Clemson wide receiver announces transfer to South Florida
Former Clemson wide receiver Ajou Ajou is heading home.
The sophomore wideout will continue his college football career at South Florida, he announced on Twitter on Wednesday.
Ajou is a native of Canada, but he went to high school at Clearwater (Florida) Academy outside of Tampa. He will now be less than an hour from his high school.
The sophomore had six catches for 73 yards this season. He played in 10 games as a true freshman, notching two receptions for 41 yards and a touchdown.
Ajou has explosive ability and speed; in his senior high school season, he averaged 17.6 yards per reception.
He was the fourth Clemson player to enter the transfer portal in December, and the second wide receiver. Wideout Frank Ladson entered the portal on Dec. 3, and he has yet to choose his next destination. In total, Clemson has had nine players elect to leave the program via the portal this year.

Tigers heading to Orlando
The last time Clemson lost a non-major bowl game was 2010, Swinney’s second season as head coach. Ironically, that loss came at the hands of South Florida in the Meineke Car Care Center Bowl, which has since been called the Belk Bowl and the Duke’s Mayo Bowl in Charlotte.
This year, No. 19 Clemson will play Iowa State in the Cheez-It Bowl in a battle between two teams that had College Football Playoff aspirations entering the 2021 season.
Iowa State is a 1.5-point favorite over the Tigers, and the game is expected to be low scoring with an over/under of 45.5. The game features two of the better defenses in the country, as Clemson is allowing just 15 points per contest, while Iowa State is giving up 20.6.
On the offensive side for the Tigers, they are scoring under 30 points per game for the first time since that last non-major bowl loss in 2010. Clemson is posting just 26.8 points per contest. Quarterback D.J. Uiagalelei threw as many interceptions as he did touchdown passes, and he had five games in which he completed less than 50% of his passes. His passer rating of 108.7 was the worst in the ACC this year.
Clemson is seeking their 11th consecutive season with double-digit wins.
