Hoschton (Ga.) Mill Creek linebacker Jamal Anderson is ready to make his decision. The No. 100 overall prospect in the On300 rankings will announce his college decision on Monday.

Anderson made a point to check in on two programs with official visits this week. He visited Clemson last weekend before flying to Utah for an official visit.

Anderson has been high on Clemson since they offered. He has been high on Utah for even longer. His father, also named Jamal Anderson, played collegiately for the Utes as well.

Anderson feels good about where he is in making the decision. Clemson leads in the On3 Recruiting Prediction Machine, but Utah has made a clear charge for the four-star linebacker.

Utah’s development of the linebacker position stands out. Anderson spoke with first-round draft pick Devin Lloyd.

“That was big,” Anderson said last month in an interview. “I got some insight on coach (Colton) Swan, what the program is all about. I know coach Swan sees me being like a Devin Lloyd type of player out there…It was good to access him. I know he’d met my dad before.”

Anderson has spoken on Clemson’s positives as well. The Tigers’ staff has compared the four-star linebacker to another top-tier NFL prospect in Trenton Simpson.

Simpson too had a chance to interact with the four-star linebacker ahead of his decision. Anderson got to bend Simpson’s ear during his official visit last weekend.

“We were talking about coming in and staying focused no matter what you have to go through,” Anderson said earlier this week. “You’ve just got to stay focused and listen to your coaches, you’ll get to where you want to be. That stood out to me.”
