CLEMSON — Graham Neff was already serving as Clemson’s Acting Director of Athletics. Now the job is officially his.

Neff was approved as Clemson’s AD by the Clemson Board of Trustee on Thursday. Neff is replacing Dan Radakovich, who left to serve as the Director of Athletics at Miami earlier this month.

Neff is in his ninth year at Clemson and was serving as the Deputy Director of Athletics prior to Radakovich’s departure.

The 38-year-old Neff is starting out at $850,000 annually and will receive a $50,000 pay increase each year. He also has an opportunity for up to $200,000 a year in bonuses. Neff’s contract runs through June 30, 2027.

“Graham, as you all know, is well-respected in his field and is considered a rising star in collegiate athletics,” Clemson President Jim Clements said. “He is in every sense of the word a five-star.”

Neff is a graduate of Georgia Tech who joined Clemson Athletics in 2013 as Associate AD of Finance and Facilities.

He is the 14th Director of Athletics in university history.

Neff has helped oversee the build and financing of more than $200 million in facility improvements, aided in the continued development of IPTAY and served as a sport administrator for football and men’s basketball.

“During his time at Clemson he has overseen the finances and operations in the department. Revenues have grown from $65 million to $140 million projected in 2022,” Clements said. “He has a great working relationship with the coaching staff and has been a key part in our athletics success. He is also well-respected among donors and IPTAY members.”

During Neff’s time at Clemson, the Tigers have won two national titles in football, while the men’s basketball team has made a pair of NCAA Tournament appearances.

“Clemson Athletics, as you all know, is a big-time job,” Clements said. “And Graham Neff is well-equipped to lead our program.”
