Brent Venables sends emotional message to Matt Bockhorst
Brent Venables has enough problems to deal with on the defensive side of the ball. But in his Monday press conference, he was asked about the number of Clemson players who have suffered season ending injuries this year.
Venables brought up offensive lineman Matt Bockhorst, who recently tore his ACL in the loss to pitt. The defensive coordinator grew emotional talking about the redshirt senior who has shuffled around the offensive line as necessary.
“Matt Bockhorst, people have no idea what he’s been through,” Venables said. “What a great leader he is, how well respected he is in this locker room. It’s easy to try and pick on different people, people have no idea the investment, the work, how much an individual can contribute to the success. Just a lot of sacrifice, a lot of hurt.
“These guys have been playing, Bockhorst has been playing hurt for a number of years. What a war daddy. Just a big time dude.”
Bockhorst’s career at Clemson is over. But his legacy will not be forgotten soon at Clemson.

Clemson target has one visit to go, then he’ll focus on his commitment
It looks like there is a chance four-star wide receiver Andre Greene, Jr. may be committed by Thanksgiving.
When the family comes together on the last Thursday in November, the On300 playmaker out of Richmond (Va.) St. Christopher’s School may be able to talk about his future home.
“I am getting closer and nothing set in stone, but I plan to commit some time in mid to late November,” Greene said.
Greene has a visit schedule at Clemson for Nov. 13. After that, he will focus in on a decision.
