Clemson quarterback commit set to make return
Clemson knew it had a special quarterback coming up the pipeline when Cade Klubnik verbally committed to the Tigers in March. The rest of the nation really caught on when he was named the MVP of the Elite 11 Finals this summer.
The last few weeks, Klubnik has not been playing for his Austin Westlake High School team. The 6-foot-3, 186-pound quarterback sprained his left (non-throwing) shoulder in early October and has been sidelined since.
He will make his return Friday night, however, when Austin Westlake plays Lake Travis to end district play.
“Cade is healthy and ready to go,” Westlake head coach Todd Dodge said on The Horn FM on Thursday.
Klubnik has been an integral part of the 2022 cycle for Clemson, helping sell the school when recruits took unofficial visits over the summer. The On3 Consensus – a complete and equally weighted industry-generated average that utilizes all four major recruiting media companies – has Klubnik ranked as the No. 22 player in the nation and the top overall quarterback.
Not talked about often this season is the impact Klubnik could play on the quarterback position for the 2022 season. If he enrolls early in January, the quarterback could challenge DJ Uiagalelei for the starting job.
2022 DE Omari Abor is in touch with Clemson, eyeing visit
Clemson’s football program is continuing to seek out options along the defensive line in the 2022 class.
As such, they’ve offered a pair of senior prospects — Khurtiss Perry and Marvin Jones — since the beginning of September. This could potentially not be the last time, however, that they offer a d-lineman in this cycle.

Tigers remain a contender for third-ranked RB Richard Young
On nearly a daily basis, Richard Young is shown that he’s a top target for Clemson’s staff.
Whether it’s text messages from the coaches or recruiting graphics, the Tigers have been making Young a priority in the 2023 class.
Young spoke with ClemsonSports.com senior recruiting report Joseph Hastings on Thursday about his contact with the coaches, thoughts on the Tigers, his assessment of true freshman Will Shipley, and more.
Why Clemson receiver Troy Stellato has been unable to get playing time
This season has been unlike any Clemson coach Dabo Swinney has ever experienced in terms of injuries.
The receivers in particular have been banged up constantly as EJ Williams, Frank Ladson, Joseph Ngata and Will Taylor have each missed at least one game. Star wideout Justyn Ross also missed the second half of Clemson’s victory over Boston College.
The Tigers have had to go deep into their bench at the receiver position. So what’s that mean for Troy Stellato? ClemsonSports.com senior writer Matt Connolly broke it all down here.
