Clemson will get another opportunity to make an early impression on Fort Mill (S.C.) Catawba Ridge quarterback Jadyn Davis, the top-ranked player in the On3 Consensus rankings for the class of 2024.

Davis camped at Clemson in the summer. The Tigers’ staff has already extended an offer to the 6-foot, 175-pound sophomore.

Davis has an early connection with the Tigers’ current quarterback D.J. Uiagalelei. The two talented quarterbacks talk on a regular basis with the elder signal-caller attempting to sell Davis on the positives about the Clemson program. The Tigers have success recruiting quarterbacks from the state of Georgia as well. Davis is originally from Georgia where he followed the careers of former Clemson stars Deshaun Watson and Trevor Lawrence.

“Me and D.J. Uiagalelei are like family at this point,” Davis said in an interview back in October. “I have a great relationship with coach (Brandon) Streeter. Me and D.J. (Uiagalelei) are pretty close. He tells me he loves Clemson and everything about it. With Trevor (Lawrence), him being from Georgia he had success, Deshaun Watson and Tajh Boyd. Clemson pretty much speaks for itself.”

Jadyn Davis coming off Big Ten trip

Davis visited Penn State last week. He got some one-on-one time with Nittany Lions’ head coach James Franklin according to an interview with Blue and White Illustrated’s Ryan Snyder.

“We walked around on the field after the game. I got shake Coach Franklin’s hand and chop it up with him a bit,” Davis told Snyder. “We then spent some time with Coach [Danny] O’Brien, their assistant quarterback coach. I then met a couple of other coaches for the first time and had another talk with Coach Yurcich for a while in the locker room, but that was pretty much it from there.”

According to the interview with Snyder, Davis could finish out his game visit schedule with a trip to Auburn for the Iron Bowl next week.
