Tyler Davis reveals why he wants to play in Clemson's bowl game
Tyler Davis knows he has a decision to make regarding the NFL Draft. But he had another to make regarding the Orange Bowl — and the Clemson defensive lineman said that one was a no-brainer.
Despite accepting an invitation to the Senior Bowl, Davis said he still hasn’t made a decision on whether or not he’ll enter the draft. Regardless, he’ll be out there with his Tigers teammates when they take on Tennessee in the Orange Bowl Jan. 1.
In fact, they’re the reason why he’s playing in the game.
“The guys by my side, just finish up with them, everybody,” Davis said. “Going to end this thing off right. That’s what I wanted to do it for.”
Davis has been a key part of the Clemson defensive line during his four years with the program. This year, he has 8.5 tackles for loss, 4.5 sacks and 28 tackles to his name, along with a fumble recovery.

The Florida native received an invite to the Senior Bowl and accepted the invitation on Tuesday night. Despite that taking that step, Davis told reporters earlier in the day that he still isn’t sure whether he will stay at Clemson or declare for the 2023 NFL Draft.
“It was great, just being a part of that game, so many people were a part of that game,” Davis said about his invite. “It’s phenomenal, I’m just honored to be a part of that game. I don’t know if I’m leaving yet.”
Reporters pressed the 6-foot-2, 300-pound defensive lineman about what was left to do before making the decision.
“Just weigh out my options,” Davis said, “talk to my family.”
