Clemson offensive lineman Walker Parks is likely out for the season, Tigers coach Dabo Swinney announced during his press conference Saturday evening. Parks missed Saturday’s game against Florida State and will remain out moving forward.

“It’s a new injury. He had surgery on his ankle in the offseason. He’s going to probably be out for the year, so tough loss for us there. We’ve got to huddle up and figure out what the best path forward for him is,” Swinney said.

“That’s a tough loss for us. Thankful that we’ve got some good depth on the offensive line and we’re going to need it. But that’s a huge loss for us.”

Parks started the first two games of the season but was injured Week 2 against Charleston Southern. He did not play last week against FAU and also missed Saturday’s game against No. 4 Florida State.

Walker Parks started all 13 games for Clemson in 2021 and started all 13 games he appeared in last season. He was banged up during fall camp but was healthy enough to start in the opener against Duke.

In addition to Parks, Clemson was also without starting receivers Antonio Williams and Cole Turner on Saturday. Swinney had no update on Williams after the game. Turner has already been ruled out for the year.

Clemson cornerback Nate Wiggins leaves Florida State game with left leg injury

Clemson also has a defender who is banged up in cornerback Nate Wiggins.

The Tigers top cornerback hurt his left leg on a late fourth down play from Florida State. He helped break up a pass deep over the middle but suffered an injury during the process. He went down and was holding his left leg after the play ended. He was eventually helped off the field but did not put any pressure on that leg on his way off.

Wiggins was eventually able to walk and put some pressure on his leg after the game ended. However, he was still clearly limping. Wiggins played well before the injury as he was credited with two pass breakups.

With the junior out, Florida State took advantage in overtime.

Seminoles quarterback Jordan Travis connected with star receiver Keon Coleman for a 24-yard touchdown in overtime. The play ended up being the winning score as Clemson was unable to score during its overtime possession.

With the loss, Clemson falls to 2-2 (0-2). The Tigers play at Syracuse next weekend as they look for their first ACC win.
