Rome (Ga.) four-star defensive lineman Stephiylan Green is one of the top players at his position in the 2023 cycle. On Thursday night, the Clemson commit showcased why.

Against Woodstock (Ga.), Green spotted a deflected pass in the air and intercepted it. He then raced into the end zone for a pick-six.

The 6-foot-2.5, 275 pound prospect is the No. 196 overall recruit and No. 26 defensive lineman in the 2023 cycle, according to the On3 Consensus, a complete and equally weighted industry-generated average that utilizes all four major recruiting media companies. He is also the No. 16 player in Georgia.

On3 rates Green higher than other recruiting services, according to the Industry Comparison. Per the 2023 On300, he is the No. 41 overall prospect, No. 7 defensive lineman and No. 7 player in Georgia.

Green committed to the Tigers on June 22. He is one of three defensive lineman in Clemson’s 2023 recruiting class, which ranks No. 8 in the 2023 On3 Consensus Team Recruiting Rankings and No. 1 in the ACC.

Green has an On3 NIL Valuation of $18K. The On3 NIL Valuation is an index that looks to set the standard market value for both high school and college-level athletes. The NIL valuation does not act as a tracker of the value of NIL deals an athlete has completed to date. It rather signifies an athlete’s value at a certain moment in time.

“Disruptive defensive linemen with one of the best first steps in the 2023 cycle with explosive physicality. Consistently fires off the snap. Bursts into the backfield with his first-step quickness as a pass rusher. Also has considerable speed-to-power ability, at times forklifting offensive linemen into the backfield. Plays with strong leverage and pad level. Highly physical, embracing and dishing out contact. A violent finisher with striking power. Blows up plays with his twitch and physicality. Dogged defender in pursuit, tracking down plays from the back side.

“Finished his junior season with over 20 tackles for loss and around 10 sacks. Continuing to show signs as one of the more disruptive defensive linemen in the cycle during the spring prior to his senior season. Does not stick out physically in terms of stature or length relative to some of his other highly-rated peers at the position.”
