Clemson‘s home-opener is this weekend against South Carolina State and the timing can’t come soon enough. The Tigers are coming off a heart-breaking loss to second-ranked Georgia last weekend.

Clemson football released a hype video to get its fans pumped up before the Week Two game. Check it out below.

The message in the tweet is a fitting one: The mentioning of hills and valleys. Clemson is currently in a bit of a valley.

If the Tigers want to reach the College Football Playoff, they’ll have to make history. In seven years of the current playoff system, no team has made it after falling in the season opener.

First thing is first, Clemson needs to fix the offensive line that allowed seven sacks in the season-opener against Georgia. Quarterback D.J. Uiagalelei has admitted, he must play better, too.

A new game brings a new opportunity for Clemson to get things corrected and it continue to climb toward its lofty goals.

Class of 2023 Tigers commits

The Tigers continue to reel in the nation’s top high school football talent on the recruiting trail and it will be no different for the 2023 recruiting class. Four-star wide receiver Nathaniel Joseph committed to the Tigers on Friday. Joseph chose Clemson over several other offers, including Alabama, Florida, Florida State, Texas A&M and others.

Listed at 5-foot-8, 170-pounds, Joseph hauled in more than 1,200 receiving yards and 14 touchdowns in 2020. The speedy wide receiver led the Edison High School Red Raiders (Miami, Florida) to the third round of the class 3A state playoffs.

Joseph is the first player to commit to the Tigers for the 2023 recruiting class.

Joseph Ngata

Speaking of Joseph, the play of wide receiver Joseph Ngata was one of the bright spots for Clemson in the 10-3 loss against Georgia. Clemson head coach Dabo Swinney has stated if he takes his health seriously, he can develop into a first-round pick in the NFL Draft. Last Saturday, Clemson fans got to see his immense potential come to fruition in a game-setting.

The former five-star prospect hauled in six catches for 110 receiving yards in the game. The junior accounted for 110 of Clemson’s 180 total yards through the air.
