Adam Randall thankful for Cade Klubnik’s support throughout rehab process
Theoretically, a wide receiver’s best friend should be a quarterback. If they are going to get targets during games, there is nobody better to be buddies with than the person throwing the ball. Luckily for Clemson‘s Adam Randall, he is good friends with Tigers starting QB Cade Klubnik.
Randall and Klubnik have a relationship that goes further than football, though. A knee injury occurred in last year’s spring practice for Randall, forcing him to go through recovery ever since then. He revealed Klubnik has been there for him throughout the entire process — with the offensive duo being roommates.
Klubnik having two sides to his personality is something Randall enjoys. When he needs to be distracted, the quarterback is there to mess around. But when the time comes to get serious about football, Randall knows Klubnik is going to step up as a serious leader.
“He’s just one of those guys that when he comes in the room, he’s going to light up the room,” Randall said. “That’s why I enjoy living with him. He always going to be the one always in the living room wanting to play around, being that goofball of a guy that he is. Then when it comes down to business on the field, he takes that businessman mentality and be the leader that he is.
“He’s an incredible guy and I’m excited to have him in my life and I’m incredibly thankful for him.”

Despite tearing his ACL in April, Randall was able to make his way onto the field in 2022. He caught 10 passes for 128 yards. Easily his best performance of the year came against Tennessee in the Orange Bowl where Klubnik was the starting quarterback. Randall had three receptions for 44 yards.
After being there for Randall off the field, the wide receiver hopes to get Klubnik back by being a consistent target.
Randall says he is back to 100% and will not wear a knee brace when Clemson takes the field on Sept. 4 against Duke. Roddy Jones of the ACC Network believes Randall is someone new Tigers offensive coordinator Garrett Riley will want to get the ball to. Having a great connection with Klubnik only helps.
“A big, physical receiver,” Jones told On3’s Andy Staples. “He’s 6’4, 230-type guy who has apparently looked fantastic. I think Garrett Riley is going to find ways to get that dude the ball.
