The Colorado Buffaloes took a major step forward under Deion Sanders in 2024, and they’re hoping to shatter any and all ceiling placed upon their team as they prepare for the 2025 campaign.

With that in mind, FanDuel Sportsbook has released the over/under as it pertains to wins for many of the sport’s top teams for the 2025 campaign. Colorado’s number has been set at 6.5, and that’ll be their benchmark for this coming season.

Last season, the Buffaloes returned to the Big 12, where they flourished throughout the year. They notched wins over teams like Baylor, Utah and Oklahoma State, and they put together win streaks of three and four on their way to a 9-4 crusade.

Unfortunately, it didn’t end the way Colorado would’ve liked, as they were stomped out by BYU in the Alamo Bowl back on Dec. 28. The Cougars put a 22-point loss on the Buffaloes’ head, and that’s what has been motivating them throughout the offseason.

Moving forward, Colorado will have to replace a ton of production, and some big names. That’s why their win total has been set at 6.5 by FanDuel. Shedeur Sanders and Travis Hunter both will be moving on to the NFL, so it’ll be up to Deion Sanders to keep the main thing the main thing for his team, and move them into a new era.

From the jump, it won’t be easy. The Buffaloes’ first game will come against a scrappy, ready to ascend Georgia Tech squad. That game will at least take place at Folsom Field on Aug. 30, so Colorado is hoping their home-field advantage is enough to shock the Yellow Jackets and lead to a 1-0 start for Coach Prime’s team.

Moreover, Colorado only has one road game within the first month of the season, so they’ll have to take advantage. They’ll take on the Houston Cougars inside TDECU Stadium on Sept. 13, which will also represent their first Big 12 clash of 2025.

At the end of September, they’ll have a chance to avenge their loss in the Alamo Bowl, as BYU will come to Boulder on Sept. 27. The Cougars figure to be one of the best teams in the Big 12 once again, so it’ll be a pivotal early-season matchup for Colorado.

Arguably their toughest stretch of the season will come towards the end, when Colorado faces Arizona State and Kansas State in back to back weekends, on Nov. 22 and Nov. 29. If the Buffaloes want to reach all of their goals, those two will likely have to end in dubs for Coach Prime’s team.

Regardless, Colorado will remain one of the more interesting teams to watch in 2025. Whether or not they punch above their 6.5 mark set by FanDuel remains to be seen, but bet against Deion Sanders’ team at your own risk.
