3-star EDGE Shakaun Bowser commits to Colorado
Three-star Queen Creek (Ariz.) Casteel EDGE Shakaun Bowser committed Monday to Colorado, announcing the decision in a Twitter post.
Bowser made an official visit to Colorado in June. He also visited Kansas State and Oregon State during the summer.
The three-star EDGE rusher is the 16th commit in Karl Dorrell‘s 2022 recruiting class. He joins Clackmas (Ore.) Kaden Ludwick as the only linebacker recruit in the class so far.
Aaron Austin of Fort Worth (Texas) North Crowley and Erick Conley of Richmond (Texas) Fort Bend Travis are Colorado’s two current defensive line commits.

Shakaun Bowser is a three-sport athlete at Casteel. He expressed interest in going to a school with a good business program because he wants to pursue a career in real estate.
On3 Director of Scouting and Rankings Charles Power says Bowser is a productive pass rusher. He added he has potential to be a defensive end or an outside linebacker depending on how his body fills out.
“Shakaun Bowser is an active edge rusher at the high school level. He was productive off the edge as a junior, registering 11 sacks and making many more plays behind the line of scrimmage,” Power said. “He may be more of a stand up rusher due to his size (6-foot-3, 225), but I could see him ultimately growing into a defensive end who puts his hand on the ground.”
