4-star ATH Aaron Butler visits Colorado

Calabasas (Calif.) four-star athlete Aaron Butler is spending this weekend on a visit to Colorado. He is the latest blue-chip prospect to see head coach Deion Sanders and his staff.
Butler visited the Buffaloes nearly two months after his most recent trip, a Jan. 27 unofficial to Georgia. The 5-foot-11.5, 165-pound recruit was previously committed to USC, backing off his pledge to the Trojans on Jan. 11.
Butler is the No. 70 overall prospect and No. 4 athlete in the 2024 cycle, according to the On3 Industry Ranking, a weighted average that utilizes all four major recruiting media companies. He is also the No. 8 player in California.
The four-star spoke about his interest in the Buffaloes with On3’s Hayes Fawcett last month.
“Coach Prime, he wants dawgs,” Butler said on Feb. 22. “I’m a dawg. He’s one of the greatest players to ever play the game, as I will be. I don’t think I need to say any more on that.”
According to the On3 Recruiting Prediction Machine, Georgia has a commanding lead for Butler’s pledge at 96.7%. He has an upcoming official visit to the Bulldogs on the weekend of April 15.
Butler included the Buffaloes among his top five schools. Alabama, Georgia, Oregon and Washington rounded out the finalists.
“These schools made the list because I can see coaches at each developing me into a first-round draft pick,” Butler told On3’s Chad Simmons about his top five. “Being developed and drafted is the main thing for me when evaluating schools. That makes these seven stand out.”

“Outside of that, all are great programs with great people,” he added. “The coaches are great, they have great families and the environment is important to me too. I want to be able to relate to the coaches, and coaches at each of these relate to me and make me feel comfortable.”
Simmons reported last month that Butler will likely be using all five of his official visits. He already knows one important factor of his decision.
“The biggest thing is winning for me,” Butler told Simmons on Oct. 26. “I’m trying to win a championship in college football, for sure, and be on the biggest stage possible.”
Butler has an On3 NIL Valuation of $130K. The On3 NIL Valuation is the industry’s leading index that sets high school and college athletes’ projected annual value (PAV). The NIL valuation does not act as a tracker of the value of NIL deals an athlete has completed to date. It rather signifies an athlete’s value at a certain moment in time.
