Calabasas (Calif.) four-star athlete Aaron Butler is visiting Colorado this weekend. He announced the news Tuesday over Twitter.
Butler is the No. 70 overall prospect and No. 4 athlete in the 2024 cycle, according to the On3 Industry Ranking, a weighted average that utilizes all four major recruiting media companies. He is also the No. 8 player in California.
Butler, who was previously committed to USC, included the Buffaloes in his top five schools. The others are Alabama, Georgia, Oregon and Washington.
“These schools made the list because I can see coaches at each developing me into a first-round draft pick,” Butler told On3’s Chad Simmons on Feb. 22. “Being developed and drafted is the main thing for me when evaluating schools. That makes these seven stand out.”
“Outside of that, all are great programs with great people,” he added. “The coaches are great, they have great families and the environment is important to me too. I want to be able to relate to the coaches, and coaches at each of these relate to me and make me feel comfortable.”

According to the On3 Recruiting Prediction Machine, Georgia has a commanding lead for Butler’s pledge at 96.9%. He has an upcoming official visit to the Bulldogs in April.
Regarding Colorado, the 5-foot-11.5, 165-pound recruit spoke about his interest in the Buffaloes with On3’s Hayes Fawcett.
“Coach Prime, he wants dawgs,” Butler said. “I’m a dawg. He’s one of the greatest players to ever play the game, as I will be. I don’t think I need to say any more on that.”
Butler has an On3 NIL Valuation of $130K. The On3 NIL Valuation is the industry’s leading index that sets high school and college athletes’ projected annual value (PAV). The NIL valuation does not act as a tracker of the value of NIL deals an athlete has completed to date. It rather signifies an athlete’s value at a certain moment in time.
