Alabama transfer WR Caleb Odom sets up visit to Colorado
Alabama transfer wide receiver Caleb Odom will visit Colorado this weekend, per On3’s Hayes Fawcett. Odom has three years of eligibility remaining.
The 6-foot-5 true freshman played in all 12 of the Crimson Tide’s regular-season games this year, tallying seven catches for 65 yards. Odom also made his lone start of the season when Alabama defeated Mercer 52-7 on Nov. 16.
Earlier this season, Alabama wide receivers coach JaMarcus Shephard praised Odom’s growth.
“I am so proud of that young man,” Shephard said. “I just want it to be very clear. His growth as a player has been exponential throughout this season, that’s why he’s played as much as he has.
“When you’re a bigger guy like he is, you’re really working to get in and out of your breaks more efficiently and be able to move in a way that’s more of a receiver. Obviously, he was recruited here to be a tight end initially. I’m super proud of his progress to this point. Really reliable kid, tough, willing to do whatever it is that we ask him to do.”
Caleb Odom played high school football at Carrollton High School, where he was a four-star prospect. He was the No. 54 overall recruit and No. 2 tight end in the 2024 recruiting cycle, according to the On3 Industry Ranking, a weighted average that utilizes all four major recruiting media companies.

Notably, Odom was high school teammates with Julian Lewis, the No. 6 quarterback in the 2025 recruiting cycle. After being committed to USC since August 2023, Lewis flipped his commitment to Colorado on Nov. 21.
Perhaps Odom is interested in reuniting with his old friend in Boulder, Colorado. After all, Buffaloes head coach Deion Sanders has transformed his program into a premier destination for players who want to play in an air-raid offense.
Colorado averaged 327.2 passing yards per game this season, the fourth-most in the country. With standout receiver Travis Hunter moving onto the NFL after this season, Odom would be a welcome new member of Colorado’s receiving corps.
