Arkansas transfer Taurean Carter flips commitment from SMU to Colorado
After leaving Arkansas and originally committing to SMU out of the transfer portal, defensive lineman Taurean Carter has changed his mind and flipped his commitment to Colorado, according to Hayes Fawcett.
Carter made 32 appearances for the Razorbacks while with the program. After redshirting as a freshman, he played in 21 games over the next two years before missing all of 2022 with a knee injury. He then returned this past season to play in 11 more games while in Fayetteville.
During his career with the ‘Hogs, Carter finished with 60 tackles and 1.5 sacks. Most of that came as a redshirt senior this fall as he posted career-highs in both tackles (25) and sacks (1.5).

Carter played high school football at Mansfield Legacy (TX) where he was a three-star prospect. He was the No. 568 overall recruit in the 2019 cycle according to the On3 Industry Ranking, a weighted average that utilizes all four major recruiting media companies. He finished as a Top-75 DL in his class as well as a Top-75 player out of Texas.
