Auburn safety transfer Terrance Love has committed to Colorado out of the NCAA transfer portal, per On3’s Hayes Fawcett. He has two years of eligbility remaining.

Love played in 22 games for the Tigers over the past two seasons. He compiled eight tackles and a passbreakup on defense.

While those numbers and that level of production might not jump off the page, Love’s high school film will likely entice at least a few lookers in the transfer portal. He was a high-caliber recruit two years ago.

On Saturday after the team’s annual spring game, Colorado head coach Deion Sanders spoke on what some of the Buffaloes’ needs in the portal may be. It appears that Coach Prime has addressed at least one of the remaining holes.

“Let’s start one tremendous defensive tackle, another linebacker or two, two safeties, probably three [cornerbacks], one receiver that’s a grown man, that’s a do,” Sanders said. “[A] couple running backs, tight end, maybe a guard, [offensive] tackle, maybe two centers. I think we got half of that already. You guys just ain’t heard about it.”

Prior to enrolling at Auburn, Terrance Love was ranked as a four-star prospect and the No. 244 overall prospect in the nation in the 2023 recruiting class. That was according to the On3 Industry Rankings, which is a proprietary algorithm that compiles ratings and rankings from all four primary recruiting media services. In addition, Love was ranked as the No. 26 linebacker in his class. He was also the No. 21 overall player from the state of Georgia, hailing from Fairburn (GA) Langston Hughes.

Kaidon Salter defends players who enter transfer portal

Although the transfer portal is no longer viewed as a novelty in college athletics, some fans still aren’t on board with the idea. On Saturday, Colorado quarterback Kaidon Salter defended the NCAA Transfer Portal from critics.

“In today’s world, you can do as best as you can to just stay a brotherhood but at the same time, people got their own goals and achievements that they want to handle in life,” Salter said. “I feel like you can’t down nobody for entering the portal, whether it’s for the money or going to go start, or whatever the case is. Everybody has their own reasons for doing so.”
