Class of 2024 RB Micah Welch commits to Colorado
Class of 2024 running back Micah Welch of Milledgeville (GA) Baldwin High announced his commitment to Colorado Monday afternoon.
The 5-foot-9, 205 pounder chose the Buffaloes over Florida, Tennessee, and West Virginia.
Welch on why he chose Colorado
“The thing that stood out about Colorado is the relationship with the coaches,” Welch said. “It felt like home as soon as I stepped on campus! It is also a program that will make me a better man off the field. Everything was just a perfect fit for me and my family.”
Relationship with coaching staff played a key role in his decision
“My relationship with the coaches is great. They did a good job to get to know me outside of football. My relationship with coach flea is amazing. We talk every week about life and football. Everyone is on the grind to win every game and that is my mentality too.”
Welch ranks as the No. 607 player in the On3 Industry Ranking, a weighted average that utilizes all four major recruiting media companies. He also tabs in as the No. 49 running back and the No. 77 player in the state of Georgia.

The Peach State running back joins coach Deion Sanders and the Buffs’ Top 20 class in the 2024 team rankings. He is accompanied by four-star athlete Aaron Butler, four-star defensive lineman Omar White, and others.
He currently does not have an On3 NIL Valuation publicly listed. The On3 NIL Valuation is the industry’s leading index that sets high school and college athletes’ projected annual value (PAV). The NIL valuation does not act as a tracker of the value of NIL deals an athlete has completed to date. It rather signifies an athlete’s value at a certain moment in time.
