Colorado Buffaloes offer 5-star OT Ty Haywood
Denton (Texas) Ryan five-star offensive tackle Ty Haywood has drawn attention from plenty of Power Four programs.
Around 30 schools have extended an offer to the hulking 6-foot-5 trench monster, and he added another school to the list on Friday. Haywood announced an official offer from Colorado and Buffaloes OL coach Phil Loadholt.
Haywood’s recruitment has already taken off as he begins his official visit schedule. Officials to TCU and UCLA have already been logged, while trips to Alabama, Texas A&M, Oklahoma and Florida State are on the docket.
The Sooners are currently trending for his pledge, according to the On3 Recruiting Prediction Machine (RPM). The Crimson Tide, as well as the in-state schools in the mix, are also looking to land the five-star. After landing an elite offensive tackle last cycle, Colorado will look to insert its name into the race for Haywood.
Haywood is the No. 12 overall prospect and No. 2 OT in the 2025 cycle, according to the On3 Industry Ranking, a weighted average that utilizes all four major recruiting media companies. He’s also the No. 4 player in Texas and checks in at No. 8 overall in the 2025 On300.
The 280-pounder earned some serious praise from On3 Director of Scouting and Rankings Charles Power as he continues to stand out amongst a packed group of talented offensive linemen this cycle.
“Ty Haywood is the most recently-minted five-star offensive lineman for On3. The 6-foot-4.5, 285 pounder has a case as the most well-rounded offensive line prospect in the cycle,” Power wrote. “Haywood has plus length, very good athleticism and outstanding play strength. The Denton (Texas) Ryan product moves laterally with ease. He’s a bull on contact, using his punch and grip strength to manipulate defensive linemen.”

Buffs chasing top recruits in 2025 cycle
After signing a small class last cycle, Deion Sanders and his staff currently have just three commitments in the 2025 cycle, as of May 17. All three pledges came in a 48-hour span, too.
Detroit native and Bradenton (Fla.) IMG Academy four-star cornerback Alex Graham kicked things off on April 26, choosing the Buffs while also holding offers from the likes of Alabama, Georgia and Michigan. He is the No. 209 recruit and No. 23 CB in the cycle.
“Being coached by NFL vets, Boulder is very peaceful with amazing views, and I BELIEVE in what Coach Prime is doing with the program,” Graham told On3 upon his commitment. “Coach Prime is very Genuine. Players with the right mentality could help the program succeed!”
Graham was soon flanked by Buford (Ga.) three-star linebacker Mantrez Walker and Bluff City (Tenn.) Sullivan East three-star tight end Corbin Laisure the following day. The trio currently compile the No. 51 class in the nation, according to the On3 Industry Team Recruiting Rankings.
