Colorado Buffaloes set to host two of the nation’s top quarterback recruits
After securing a road upset of defending College Football Playoff participant TCU, the college football world is buzzing over Deion Sanders’ Colorado Buffaloes. Recruits around the country have talked about the Buffaloes, and now two of the nation’s top quarterback recruits in the 2025 cycle have visits set to Boulder.
247Sports reported that Belleville (Mich.) 2025 No. 1 overall prospect Bryce Underwood will visit Colorado on September 30 for the Buffaloes’ home game versus USC. Warner Robins (Ga.) Houston County four-star quarterback Antwann Hill announced on social media that he will be in Boulder on October 13 for Colorado’s game against Stanford.
Underwood and Hill are the No. 1 and No. 5 quarterback respectively in the 2025 cycle according to the On3 Industry Ranking — a weighted average that utilizes all four major recruiting media companies.
The number of visits that Underwood has taken to Michigan sits in the double digits, while he has also taken multiple trips to Michigan State, Ohio State and LSU. Hill has been all around the country, from Georgia to UCLA.

“I watched the [TCU] game and they shocked the world,” Mikell told On3. “That is what I love about the win. People have been doubting them. They are that underdog team and that’s kind of who I am. I don’t really care about the glamour of winning championships because if you feel like you change a program and make a difference somewhere, then you go do that.”
Sanders building new program at Colorado
Amidst a rebuild in Boulder, Sanders wasted no time in wiping the slate clean to build a new program at the foothills of the Rockies. After bringing in roughly 50 transfer players to the program, including former Five-Star Plus+ two-way player Travis Hunter, it’s a new beginning for the Buffaloes.
Colorado finished with the No. 35 class in the 2023 cycle and currently ranks No. 60 in 2024. Calabasas (Calif.) four-star athlete Aaron Butler headlines the class. The nation’s No. 101 overall prospect committed to Colorado in May. West Bloomfield (Mich.) four-star defensive lineman Brandon Davis-Swain is the other blue-chipper currently pledged to the Buffaloes.
But Sanders has gotten off to an early start in the 2025 class where many programs have yet to bring in any commitments. Bradenton (Fla.) IMG Academy four-star wideout Winston Watkins Jr. is the No. 50 overall prospect in the 2025 cycle and committed to Colorado in December of 2022. Venice (Fla.) three-star running back Jamarice Wilder is the second pledge in the Buffaloes’ 2025 class.
