Colorado head coach Deion Sanders is a big believer in the notion that the better you look, the better you play. Because of that, he has helped design new jerseys for the Buffaloes for the 2024 season.
Sanders was very involved in the design of the new uniforms and revealed on Friday that they will come out soon.
“A heavy hand,” Deion Sanders responded when asked what role he played in the design. “You’re going to see them real soon.”
Sanders is entering Year 2 in Boulder and believes that it is time for the jerseys to receive an upgrade. He has always changed the uniforms at each of his stops and is doing the same at Colorado.
“Well, uniforms don’t win or lose games, they just enhance the look. They just help provoke sales more, selling more merchandise,” Deion Sanders said. “Everywhere we’ve gone, we’ve always enhanced the look – from several different high schools to college at Jackson and now here. So not only the uniforms, the cleats to match the uniforms. Those are gonna be suitable, as well.”
Sanders loves the way the new Colorado uniforms came together, and he is excited for them to be released to the public.
“So these young men are going to have a wonderful look,” he said. “You know, the motto ‘you look good, you feel good.’ And then consequently they play good. And that’s what we’re aiming for.”
Shedeur, Shilo Sanders debate difference between Deion Sanders, Coach Prime personas
Colorado players Shedeur and Shilo Sanders recently discussed the difference between their coach and dad, Deion Sanders, at home and on the practice field. Shedeur has spent his entire college career playing for his father after also being coached by him in high school at Trinity Christian (TX).

Similarly, Deion Sanders also coached Shilo in high school before the defensive back committed to South Carolina in 2019. He eventually transferred to play for his dad at Jackson State in 2021 and again followed him to Colorado in 2023.
Speaking on Shedeur’s podcast, 2Legendary with Shedeur Sanders, the brothers opened up on balancing the coach vs. dad personas of Deion Sanders. Shilo admitted that he doesn’t see much difference in the two.
“It’s the same guy,” he said.
Shedeur, however, sees there being at least some difference and recalled something that his dad told him when he began coaching him.
“Remember dad would say, ‘Hey, I ain’t your dad on the field?’” he said.
Deion Sanders has never been one to hold back, not when he was a player and certainly not as a coach. That personality has led to some interesting moments in practice, with Shilo often feeling like he gets coached a bit harder than some of the other players.
“He don’t be over there messing with you. He’s too busy with me,” he said. “Watching me every day, the whole practice. Standing right behind me. I can’t even make the right breaks because he’s in my way.”
