Colorado CB D.J. McKinney imitates Elijah Moore 2019 Egg Bowl dog pee celebration after pick-six
Colorado defensive back D.J. McKinney got the ultimate revenge on his former team, Oklahoma State, on Friday, hauling in a pick six to make an already lopsided game even more uneven.
But then he caught a 15-yard penalty for pulling out a celebration with echoes of the recent past. After getting to the back of the end zone, McKinney got down on all fours and pretended to pee like a dog would, lifting a leg in the air.
It was quickly flagged for 15 yards.
McKinney did this move exactly five years and a day after then-Ole Miss wideout Elijah Moore did it in the Egg Bowl, before the Rebels missed a game-tying extra point and thusly lost, 21-20. The sequence now has a new vestige in CFB history, though the Buffaloes held a commanding lead and were shutting out the Cowboys.
To boot, the 2024 Egg Bowl is slated to kick off at 3:30 p.m. EST, around 30 minutes after McKinney brought back many memories — painful or otherwise — for the Rebels and Mississippi State fans.
Travis Hunter broke out a celebration in homage to his head coach
Travis Hunter is putting the finishing touches on what many expect to be a Heisman-winning campaign in 2024. The two-way star was making a strong closing argument to begin against Oklahoma State in Colorado’s regular season finale.

In the first quarter alone, Hunter had an interception, a pass breakup and a receiving touchdown. And after his score, he paid homage to a legend.
That legend just happened to be his head coach, Deion Sanders, as Hunter hit the Prime Time celebration that Sanders popularized during his playing days.
At the end of the first quarter, Colorado led, 21-0, and Hunter kept up his lead in the Heisman race. Hunter finished his day with 10 catches for more than 100 yards and three touchdowns, with a handful of near-interceptions on defense as Colorado rolled to a win.
