Colorado football celebrates Deion Sanders' birthday with cake
The Colorado Buffaloes are in fall camp gearing up for the 2024-2025 college football season. And on Friday, they decided to celebrate the birthday of their head coach, Deion Sanders. All of their players huddled around and sang happy birthday to him and brought him a cake.
Friday is Deion Sanders’ 57th birthday. He was born on August 9th, 1967 in Fort Myers, Florida.
Deion Sanders is excited for the new uniforms
Colorado head coach Deion Sanders is a big believer in the notion that the better you look, the better you play. Because of that, he has helped design new jerseys for the Buffaloes for the 2024 season.
Sanders was very involved in the design of the new uniforms and revealed on Friday that they will come out soon.
“A heavy hand,” Deion Sanders responded when asked what role he played in the design. “You’re going to see them real soon.”
Sanders is entering Year 2 in Boulder and believes that it is time for the jerseys to receive an upgrade. He has always changed the uniforms at each of his stops and is doing the same at Colorado.
“Well, uniforms don’t win or lose games, they just enhance the look. They just help provoke sales more, selling more merchandise,” Deion Sanders said. “Everywhere we’ve gone, we’ve always enhanced the look – from several different high schools to college at Jackson and now here. So not only the uniforms, the cleats to match the uniforms. Those are gonna be suitable, as well.”

Sanders loves the way the new Colorado uniforms came together, and he is excited for them to be released to the public.
“So, these young men are going to have a wonderful look,” he said. “You know, the motto ‘you look good, you feel good.’ And then consequently they play good. And that’s what we’re aiming for.”
Colorado enters their second season under Sanders at the helm. Their coaching staff revamped the offensive line this offseason with a number of different players from the transfer portal and the high school ranks. They’ll hope the unit is vastly improved to give Shedeur Sanders, their star quarterback, more time in the pocket. They also return electrifying stars such as Travis Hunter, one of the nation’s top two-way stars.
Colorado will open up their 2024 campaign against North Dakota State on Thursday, August 29th. Kick for that one is set for 8:00 PM EST. The game will be nationally televised on ESPN.
