Deion Sanders, long-time fiancé breaking up after 12 years together
Colorado head coach Deion Sanders and his fiancé Tracey Edmonds have ended their longtime romantic relationship. The couple spent 12 years together, but Sanders and Edmonds have now called off their marriage, Edmonds announced on social media Sunday night.
Edmonds provided the update on Facebook, releasing the following statement:
“To EVERYONE who has been there for us, supported us, and shown us love…
We have mutually decided that it is best for us to move forward in life AS FRIENDS and have made this decision with love in our hearts, respect for each other, and appreciation for the time we’ve shared together. Please keep us in your prayers as we go through this transition. Thank you for being there for us ALL THESE YEARS! We love you and appreciate you SO MUCH!
Tracey and Deion”
Deion Sanders just wrapped up his first season at Colorado, leading the Buffaloes to a 4-8 record.
The former two-sport star is now coaching after an incredible playing career. Sanders is in both the Pro Football Hall of Fame and College Football Hall of Fame. He went 27-6 in three seasons at Jackson State, before taking over at Colorado.
Tracey Edmonds is a successful TV personality and businesswoman.
Deion Sanders comments on Florida State missing playoff
Before Deion Sanders got into coaching, he was an absolute star at Florida State. The Seminoles missed out on the chance to compete in the College Football Playoff this season as Alabama received the No. 4 spot instead.
Sanders joined the Dan Le Batard Show on Monday and was asked about Florida State not getting in the top 4.
“I can’t be upset, We recruiting against those guys,” Sanders said. “You got to understand that this is business now. You got to look at it, a lot of people don’t look at it like this is business. This is entertainment but this is business.

“So it’s no way you’re gonna leave Coach Saban and Alabama out of a playoff. Who should be really upset, not only Florida State, but Kirby Smart. He’s been what, No. 1 for the last two years or three years and they’re out? What about them? I mean, this is unbelievable. I want those problems, yeah give me those problems.”
Le Batard said Sanders was okay with the whole playoff being a “TV commercial,” as in the biggest brands. Sanders had a slightly different take.
“This is what it is,” Sanders said. “You know who really messed it up and they’re really good, but you know who messed it up was Washington. They messed it up because that’s not a huge market there. You got Michigan, Texas, Alabama, Washington, and they can play. God they’re good.
“I mean they can flat out play. They got a quarterback that is out of this world, that defense is coming. This is perfect. I can’t wait to see how it plays out. But leaving out a Florida State as well as a Georgia, my god that’s why I’m thankful it’s increased next year. And guess who’s gonna be in?”
