Colorado star Shedeur Sanders was feeling some ankle soreness following Saturday’s hard-fought loss to USC.

However, the junior quarterback said Tuesday that he is now doing well ahead of Saturday’s matchup with Arizona State.

“Everything’s fine now,” Shedeur Sanders said. “You know after the game, it’s just soreness a little bit. So I sat in an ice bath for almost an hour after the game and I’m fine now. I feel great.”

Sanders put on a show against the Trojans, passing for 371 yards and four touchdowns. He also rushed for a score.

The son of Deion Sanders did all of that, despite experiencing some soreness. The good news is that Sanders was able to quickly recover. He added that a focus of his each week is taking care of his body, both before and after games.

“The best quarterbacks stay healthy, so that’s the main thing,” Shedeur Sanders said. “Just investing your time in things that matter, which is your health. And just doing the daily things to make sure you’re proactive and not reactive.”

So far this season, Sanders has completed nearly 75 percent of his passes. He has thrown for 1,781 yards and 15 touchdowns, with only two interceptions. The Jackson State transfer has also rushed for a pair of touchdowns for the 3-2 Buffaloes, who have dropped back-to-back games.

Deion Sanders reveals Shilo Sanders has returned to practice for Colorado

Shedeur Sanders isn’t the only Sanders who is feeling better following an injury.

Deion Sanders revealed Tuesday that Shilo Sanders has returned to practice for Colorado, ahead of Saturday’s game against Arizona State. The defensive back missed this past weekend’s game against USC.

“Shilo’s great and he’s back on the practice field,” Deion Sanders said. “He’s back on getting on my nerves. So he’s picking up where we left off.”

In four games this season, Shilo Sanders has 26 total tackles, 21 solo tackles, one forced fumble, one interception and one touchdown, which he scored against Colorado State.

As a member of the Class of 2019, Shilo Sanders was a three-star recruit out of Cedar Hill (Texas) Trinity Christian School, according to the On3 Industry Ranking, a weighted average that utilizes all four major recruiting media companies. He was the No. 69 overall prospect in the state, the No. 57 safety in the class and the No. 584 overall prospect in the class.

Initially, Deion Sanders talked about Shilo during USC game week, praying his son would be able to play.

“He’s doing better,” Sanders said of his son. “We went to the hospital right after we landed. He’s doing much better. We’re praying that he heals and he’s playing this weekend. He’s a valuable part of our secondary and our team defensively.
