Business is booming in Colorado as head coach Deion Sanders has already put the Buffaloes on the map in a major way just a few weeks into the season. Colorado’s 2-0 start under Sanders has put a new spotlight on the program, resulting in more national attention which naturally helps in recruiting.

Coach Prime previously spoke about his ability to attract skill players in recruiting better offensive and defensive linemen, and as they head into their Week 3 matchup with Colorado State, he was asked how plans to change that in the midst of in-season recruiting.

“It’s already changed, I say that so you can highlight it, so you can print it and run with it, and you did just what I wanted you to do so thank you,” Sanders said strategically. “I appreciate it.”

Colorado’s skill players have rightfully grasped the attention nationally, headlined by quarterback Shedeur Sanders who currently ranks second in the nation in passing yards and two-way star Travis Hunter, who joins three other pass catchers that have already logged 100-yard receiving days for the Buffaloes through two weeks.

But Sanders is also confident in offensive line and his defensive front as it currently stands.

“Obviously when you have a coach that played defensive back your attractability is skill positions, so we don’t have a tremendous problem getting those bigs,” Sanders explained. “I think we have a tremendous rotation of bigs right now, offense and defensive line. You haven’t seen the offensive line as of yet because the solid five has been in there, but now we have the sixth going in at center.”

Colorado has already given up 12 sacks this season and only logged two of their own through two games. It hasn’t cost them a game yet, and it’s to be determined if it will this season, but regardless Sanders made it clear that it won’t be like that forever in Boulder given the amount of intrigue surrounding his program in the recruiting space.

“But trust me, those guys are coming. They’re coming,” Sanders said. “We’re receiving so many calls at this point right now it’s absurd. Just inquiring about what we do and how we do what we do and visitation. Desiring to come on an unofficial or official visit. So I’m liking where we are right now, I’m truly liking that.”

Everyone is familiar with the work Sanders did in the transfer portal this offseason as he rebuilt his roster. But it will surely be interesting to see where the Buffaloes stand amongst the high school recruiting ranks this offseason and if their current momentum can be maintained.
