Colorado LB Johnny Chaney enters NCAA transfer portal
Colorado Buffaloes linebacker Johnny Chaney plans to enter the NCAA transfer portal, On3 has learned.
Chaney played for Florida A&M during the 2023 season and set career highs, but entered the portal in April to look for a new home. Evidently, his time in Boulder didn’t go as anticipated, and he’ll be moving on from the program.
“I want to say thank you to Buff Nation for welcoming me to my new home with open arms since my arrival,” Chaney wrote on X, accompanying a graphic. “The fanbase is unreal. I’ve built many lasting relationships with my teammates and staff while being in Boulder and I am beyond grateful for every opportunity.
“With that being said, I will be forgoing the remainder of the season and redshirting to sustain my eligibility. I will be entering my name In the transfer portal on Dec. 8, with one year of eligibility remaining.”
