Colorado linebacker Brendan Gant let his emotions get the best of him following a 42-6 loss to Oregon on Saturday. As Gant walked off the field and into the locker room, he passed several Ducks fans and even stopped to give a fist bump to one.

However, to another fan who had his back turned and appeared to be recording a video on his phone, Gant wasn’t so kind. He jumped up and snatched a bandana off his head before tossing it back into the crowd. The Buffaloes linebacker addressed the situation Sunday on Twitter apologizing for his behavior.

“Yesterday after the game I made a wrong decision toward a fan outta frustration cause of a fan just being a fan,” he wrote. “To that fanbase and more specifically that individual, I know better and to myself that was unacceptable and could have been avoided. I do apologize because that is not me, my character or who I strive to be and that is definitely not Colorado football.”

Gant seemed to imply in another tweet that the fan did something to provoke his reaction. However, it’s unclear what that is based on the video, as he doesn’t appear to be looking the linebacker’s direction. He is clearly talking into his phone though, and another fan appears to be speaking in Gant’s direction.

“One last thought for anybody, I DONT BOTHER ANYONE unless the bother me first,” Gant wrote. “At the end of the day wrong is wrong but don’t create your own narrative.”

Brendan Gant was one of several transfer additions to the Colorado roster this offseason, joining the Buffaloes after four seasons at Florida State. He’s made a limited impact so far and has not recorded any stats this season.

Regardless, he’ll look to put the incident with the Oregon fan behind him as the Buffaloes prepare for another top 10 opponent in USC in Week 5. Kickoff for that game is set for noon ET on Saturday in Boulder.

Deion Sanders on Dan Lanning call out: ‘He can take shots, they won’

Dan Lanning has made his thoughts on the Colorado program known. Comments were made before the season began, in the week leading up to the game, and moments before Oregon ran onto the field. Lanning wanted to make a statement on Saturday afternoon and accomplished his goals in a big way.

Following the game, Colorado head coach Deion Sanders was asked about the pregame comments Lanning made. Maybe surprisingly, Sanders was not too upset with him. His logic was since Oregon won the game, Lanning was allowed to take shots against the Buffaloes.

“I got messages,” Sanders said during his postgame press conference. “God bless him, he’s a great coach. Take shots. They won.”

The pregame message from Lanning was a strong one. He called Colorado a Cinderella story but said it ended on Saturday night. Lanning was talking passionately with his team in the pregame locker room too, making his true feelings known.

“Rooted in substance, not flash. Today we talk with our pads… The Cinderella story is over. They’re fighting for clicks, we’re fighting for wins,” Lanning said.
