Colorado linebacker Trevor Woods enters Transfer Portal

Colorado Buffaloes linebacker Trevor Woods has entered the NCAA Transfer Portal, On3 has learned.
Trevor Woods spent four seasons in Boulder, playing in 33 games during the course of his time there. He finished at Colorado with 167 total tackles, three tackles for a loss, and 0.5 sacks. He also has three interceptions and seven passes defended to go with three forced fumbles.
In 2022, the year before Deion Sanders came to Colorado, was Woods’ most productive from a statistical standpoint. He had 79 tackles that season, a tackle for loss, and an interception in 10 games played. By the 2024 season, Woods only played in four games for Colorado after he elected to sit out the season and redshirt at the end of September.
After playing his high school football at Taylor in Texas, Trevor Woods came to Colorado as a three-star recruit in the Class of 2021, according to the On3 Industry Ranking. He was the 80th-ranked safety and the 928th-ranked player overall in that recruiting cycle. He’d make the switch to linebacker after arriving in Colorado.

Colorado is coming off its best season since 2016, going 9-3 and coming up just short of a Big 12 Championship Game appearance. Now, with the team heading to the Alamo Bowl, Sanders is looking to lead this team to a 10-win season in his second year in Boulder.
In his first two seasons at Colorado, Sanders became known for his Transfer Portal usage, which he used to quickly flip the roster and bring in players who he wanted quicker than a coach would have been able to do so without the portal.
This season, the portal has only been open briefly, but to this point, the Buffaloes have been a little bit less active in the Transfer Portal. So far, 16 Buffaloes have entered the portal with Colorado only adding four players from the portal so far. However, there is still plenty of time for Sanders to add more players to Colorado.
