Every now and then there are some unfortunate incidents when it comes to college football locker rooms, with theft an occasional issue. Colorado found that out the hard way on Saturday.

During a road game to take on UCLA, several Colorado players apparently had belongings stolen, including several chains.

A video posted online showed a handful of players discussing the issue outside of the facilities following the game, which ended in a 28-16 UCLA win. Multiple players lamented the theft, including some that had just purchased chains recently.

Just last year a similar occurrence happened at a Virginia Tech game.

Virginia Tech traveled to Old Dominion and had multiple items stolen from the locker room, with law enforcement ultimately getting involved to attempt to recover some of the belongings.

It sounds like that will be the case at Colorado too, with someone at the beginning of the video linked above noting that someone will come talk to the players about the issue. Still, you can understand the frustration from the players, some of which boiled over into a few expletives being dropped.

It’s just salt in the wound for Colorado, which has come on tough times after a galvanizing start to the season.

Colorado has now lost four of its last five games, including two games by just one possession.

After winning four of the first six games this season, there will be a lot on the line for the Buffaloes in the final month of the season. The team still needs two more wins to secure bowl eligibility, and it’ll be a tough path to get there.

Remaining games on the schedule are at home against No. 16 Oregon State and Arizona, then on the road at Washington State and No. 18 Utah.

Winning two of those will obviously be challenging.

If anything, though, the motivation of making it to a bowl game will certainly be increased following the locker room snafu at UCLA. Players are often rewarded with significant gift packages when qualifying for a bowl game, so even if the lost items from Saturday can’t be recovered, they can at least be partially replaced if the Buffaloes can become bowl eligible.
