Colorado Playmaker Travis Hunter Is Elite! Colorado, Deion Sanders Beat Tcu What Made It Special

After their jaw-dropping 45-42 win over TCU on Saturday, the Buffaloes are no longer a tiny blip on college football’s radar. On Tuesday, the Pac-12 announced its players of the week. The list was littered with Colorado talent.

First, Shedeur Sanders was named the Offensive Player of the Week. The honor comes as no surprise to anybody who tuned into Colorado’s Week 1 victory. In the win, quarterback Shedeur Sanders tallied a program-record 510 passing yards and four touchdowns while throwing zero interceptions.

Colorado owned the other side of the ball, as well. Two-way standout Travis Hunter earned the Defensive Player of the Week Award. Hunter was lockdown on defense, recording three tackles, a pass deflection and a pivotal interception.

Hunter easily could’ve earned offensive honors, too. The former five-star recruit put on a show, rattling off 119 receiving yards on a team-high 11 catches. Hunter wasn’t the only Buffalo who boasted over 100 receiving yards.

First-year RB Dylan Edwards was named the Freshman of the Week. In the triumph, Edwards exploded for 135 receiving yards on a mere five receptions. Edwards collected a team-high three receiving touchdowns while also rushing for 24 yards.

Deion Sanders has high hopes for Colorado stars

While most college football fans could have never predicted these landslide results, one man never lacked faith: Colorado head coach Deion Sanders. After the trio’s spectacular performance, Sanders believe his players can bring home the Heisman Trophy.

“It would be good if both [Shedeur Sanders] and [Travis Hunter] could,” Sanders said on FS1’s “Undisputed.” “Don’t exclude Dylan Edwards. Don’t exclude the little fella. But, just to have a couple of guys in the running for it, you don’t know what that does for our program.”

The program is already unrecognizable from just a week ago. Experts went from predicting Colorado to be a three-win team to discussing the Pac-12 Championship. Sanders hasn’t forgotten his doubters.

“Ain’t none of y’all believed that,” Deion Sanders said, pointing at the press, after Colorado’s win on Saturday. “Maybe a couple of y’all that knew me and know how I get down. They know I’m a winner. We going to end up winning. Ain’t none of y’all thought you was gonna be sitting up here. You was supposed to be on the other side, interviewing that, or coming and asking me, ‘What happened? You said this and you said that.’ Yeah, now what? Now what? Everybody quiet now. Now what?”

Colorado’s talented trio won’t have to wait long to show off their talents once again. On Saturday, the Buffaloes will take on Nebraska at noon. The game will be broadcast on FOX.
