Colorado has dropped four straight games following a 4-2 start to the season, with the most recent loss being a 56-14 beatdown by Washington State. Deion Sanders admitted recently that there are plenty of people in the Buffaloes program frustrated.

Sanders spoke on his coaches show earlier this week about how his team flushed the loss to the Cougars.

“First of all, you get all the bull junk out,” Sanders said. “So you put a chair up and you sit in front of everybody on the team and say, ‘Alright, let’s get it out. There’s some bull junk that’s been said on social media. Let’s confront it.’ I’m not going to put it like I ain’t hear it. I was asleep, passed out, but everybody texted me and told me about it. So who said what and why? And we got it out.”

Some players have expressed their disappointment and frustration on social media recently. Sanders understands players being frustrated and doesn’t mind them speaking up. He simply wanted that to take place in person, with the entire team around.

“I said, ‘Who else got something to say?’ So somebody said something about this group, somebody said something about that group, somebody said something about that group, somebody said something about this guy. And we got it out. And it was a beautiful thing,” Sanders said.

It wasn’t just the players who spoke up. Sanders shared his thoughts, as did defensive coordinator Charles Kelly. Even Deion Sanders’ son “Bucky,” who is the team’s videographer, made his thoughts known.

“Coach Kelly said a couple of things. I said a couple of things. My son Bucky said a few things, because he’s the camera man. He said, ‘I’m seeing all this bull junk and I’m mad,’” Sanders recalled. “He was furious. He said, ‘I’m the camera man. I see everything. I know who’s in it, who’s not, who shut it down.’ I mean it was volatile, but it was very productive, because everybody got it out. Sometimes you’ve got to get it out and flush it.”

One player in particular who complained on social media was running back Kavosiey Smoke.

The Kentucky transfer took to Twitter following the Washington State loss and posted: “Simple fact bru we could’ve went undefeated this year. Too much selfish ball going on man can’t win like that. Gotta play and win as a team but if u go the other route u get results like this.”

Sanders doesn’t have a problem with how Smoke feels.

“I agree,” Sanders said. “First of all, I said he’s one of my favorite players on the team and I feel like we let him down, because he came here a heralded running back and one of the best in the game, and I think he’s a pro. … Had we been able to accommodate his needs.

He is one of my favorites, and he just told the truth. He said what he felt. I don’t mind when people say what they feel and feel what they say. I have no problem with that.”
